국문 초록
This study investigates the use of ChatGPT and media-based collaborative learning to enhance metapragmatic awareness among 30 Korean EFL university students. The students analyzed English expressions from animated programs and English-dubbed Korean dramas, using ChatGPT to compare pragmatic differences and discuss language use appropriate to different contexts. The data included group discussion transcripts, ChatGPT-student interaction logs, and student reflection journals. The results revealed that metapragmatic discussions, facilitated by ChatGPT, improved students’ understanding of the contextual nuances in English expressions. Collaborative learning encouraged deeper exploration of pragmatic differences and fostered student autonomy in language analysis. Additionally, ChatGPT’s personalized feedback helped students adapt example dialogues to their own language proficiency, making complex pragmatic concepts more accessible. The findings suggest that AI tools like ChatGPT hold potential for enhancing metapragmatic awareness in EFL learners.
