고등학생의 정신건강과 일상활동의 관계

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 고등학생의 일상활동과 정신건강의 관계를 분석하여 일상활동이 정신건강에 미치는 영향을 규명하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 방법 한국교육종단연구 2013의 7차년도 학생용 데이터를 활용하여 2019년 현재 전국의 고등학교 2학년 6,207명을 연구의 대상으로 하여 정신건강과 봉사활동인식, 문화활동, 동아리활동, 운동시간 및 휴대전화중독을 중심으로 하는 일상활동의 현황과 관계를 분석하였다. 또한 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 일상활동이 정신건강에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 결과 고등학생의 정신건강은 남자보다 여자가 유의하게 낮았고, 대도시 학생들이 특별시, 중소도시, 읍면지역 학생에 비해 유의하게 높았다. 정신건강은 봉사활동인식, 문화활동, 동아리활동 및 운동시간과 유의한 정적 상관관계를 보였으며, 휴대전화중독과 유의한 부적 상관관계를 보였다. 정신건강에 유의한 영향을 미치는 일상활동은 봉사활동인식, 문화활동, 운동시간 및 휴대전화중독으로 나타났다. 결론 고등학생의 정신건강 증진을 위해 일상활동 중 봉사활동, 문화활동, 운동 프로그램을 개발·지원하고, 휴대전화이용과 중독을 낮추는 개입방안이 필요하다.

영문 초록

Objectives The primary objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between daily activities and mental health among high school students, with the aim of elucidating the impact of daily activities on their mental well-being. Methods This study utilized the 7th-year student data from the 2013 Korean Education Longitudinal Study (KELS) and focused on 6,207 second-year high school students across the nation in 2019. The analysis centered on the current status and relationships between mental health and various daily activities, including perceptions of volunteer activities, cultural activities, club activities, exercise time, and smartphone addiction. Additionally, hierarchical regression analysis was employed to assess the impact of these daily activities on mental health. Results The mental health of high school students was significantly lower in females compared to males, and students in metropolitan areas had significantly better mental health than those in Seoul metropolitan city, small and medium-sized cities, and rural areas. The mental health of high school students showed a significant positive correlation with perceptions of volunteer activities, cultural activities, club activities, and exercise time, while it was significantly negatively correlated with smartphone addiction. The daily activities that significantly influenced mental health were identified as perceptions of volunteer activities, cultural activities, exercise time, and smartphone addiction. Conclusions To promote the mental health of high school students, it is necessary to develop and support programs related to volunteer activities, cultural activities, and exercise, as well as to implement intervention strategies aimed at reducing smartphone use and addiction.
