대학생의 수동적 SNS 사용과 주관적 안녕감의 관계에서 사회비교와 마음챙김의 이중매개효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 수동적 SNS 사용이 주관적 안녕감에 미치는 영향력을 확인하고, 이들 관계에서 사회비교와 마음챙김의 이중매개효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위해 B지역에 재학중인 대학생 225명을 대상으로 수동적 SNS 사용, 주관적 안녕감, 사회비교, 마음챙김을 측정하는 척도들을 사용하여 온라인 설문을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료를 SPSS 통계프로그램을 사용하여 회귀분석 및 부트스트래핑 분석을 하였고, SPSS Macro Model 6를 이용해 이중매개효과를 산출하였다. 결과 첫째, 수동적 SNS 사용은 주관적 안녕감과 유의한 상관이 나타나지 않았고, 사회비교와 유의한 정적 상관관계를 마음챙김과 유의한 부적 상관관계를 나타내었다. 둘째, 수동적 SNS 사용과 주관적 안녕감의 관계에서 사회비교는 유의미하게 매개하였고 마음챙김의 매개효과는 유의미하지 않았다. 셋째, 수동적 SNS 사용이 사회비교와 마음챙김을 통해 주관적 안녕감에 영향을 미치는 이중매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 결론 이를 통해 대학생의 수동적 SNS 사용은 사회비교의 부정적 효과가 뒤따르는데 마음챙김을 거치면서 사회비교의 부정적 영향이 완화되어 주관적 안녕감 감소를 억제하는 효과가 있는 것으로 시사된다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of passive social media use on subjective well-being and to identify the dual mediating effects of social comparison and mindfulness on this relationship. Methods An online survey was conducted using scales measuring passive social media use, subjective well-being, social comparison, and mindfulness among 225 university students enrolled in Area B. The data were collected using SPSS statistical program. The collected data were subjected to regression and bootstrapping analyses using SPSS statistical program, and dual mediation effects were calculated using SPSS Macro Model 6. Results First, passive social media use was not significantly related to subjective well-being, and showed a significant positive correlation with social comparison and a significant negative correlation with mindfulness. Second, social comparison significantly mediated the relationship between passive social media use and subjective well-being, while the mediating effect of mindfulness was not significant. Third, the dual mediation effects of passive social media use on subjective well-being through social comparison and mindfulness was significant. Conclusions These findings suggest that passive social media use by college students is followed by the negative effects of social comparison, but that mindfulness mitigates the negative effects of social comparison, thereby inhibiting the decline in subjective well-being.
