응급구조학 전공학생의 가상현실(VR)기반 환자안전 시뮬레이션 교육경험

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 응급구조학 전공학생을 대상으로 가상현실(VR)기반 환자안전 시뮬레이션 교육경험을 탐색하고 향후 VR을 이용한 환자안전 시뮬레이션 교육의 확대운영을 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 시도되었다. 방법 모집공고문을 통해 연구참여에 동의한 D광역시 소재 응급구조학 전공학생 13명을 대상으로 4-5명씩 구성하여 3팀으로 나누어 가상현실기반 환자안전 시뮬레이션 교육을 적용한 후 개방적이고 반구조화된 질문을 통해 포커스그룹 인터뷰를 시행하였으며 녹음과 필사를 통해 탐색한 내용을 바탕으로 합의적 질적 연구법에 따라 심도있는 논의와 유목화 과정을 거쳐 분석하였다. 결과 경험의 의미를 분석한 결과 2개의 영역 6개의 주제모음(theme clusters)과 13개의 주제(themes)로 분류하였는데 교육적 측면의 영역에서는 ‘생소한 가상현실교육의 흥미로움’,‘ 용이한 접근성’, ‘임상실습 한계를 극복’, 효과적인 학습법으로 기능함’ 으로 4개의 주제모음, 장비사용 측면의 영역에서는 VR장비의 기술적 제약’, ‘신체적 민감성’ 이라는 2개의 주제모음이 확인되었다. 결론 가상현실기반 환자안전 시뮬레이션 교육은 효과적인 교육방법으로 필요성이 제기되었으며 안전한 운영을 위한 개선사항이 도출되었다 추후 가상현실 기반 환자안전 시뮬레이션 교육의 운영에 기초자료로 활용할 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aimed to explore the educational experiences of paramedic students in patient safety simu lations based on virtual reality (VR). It also sought to provide foundational data to support the future expansion of VR-based patient safety simulation education. Methods Thirteen paramedicine students from D Metropolitan City, who consented to participate in the study through a recruitment notice, were divided into three teams of 4-5 members each. A virtual reality-based patient safety simulation training was conducted for these teams. Subsequently, focus group interviews were carried out using open-ended and semi-structured questions. The interviews were audio-recorded and transcribed, and the collected data were analyzed through an in-depth discussion and categorization process following the consensual qualitative research method. Results The analysis of the experiences revealed two domains, six theme clusters, and thirteen themes. In the educational aspect, four theme clusters emerged: “Interest in the unfamiliar VR-based education,” “Easy acces sibility,” “Overcoming the limitations of clinical practice,” and “Functioning as an effective learning method.” In the equipment usage aspect, two theme clusters were identified: “Technical limitations of VR equipment” and “Physical sensitivity.” Conclusions The VR-based patient safety simulation education was identified as an effective teaching method, highlighting the need for its implementation. Suggestions for improvement to ensure safe operation were also derived. It is hoped that this study will serve as foundational data for future VR-based patient safety simulation programs.
