국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 중·고등학교 학생들의 환경 교과 유용가치, 학습지속성, 진로준비행동 간의 관계를 탐구하고, 중학교와 고등학교 학생들 간의 집단별 인식 차이를 분석하여 환경 교과가 학생들의 학습과 진로 탐색에 미치는 영향을 검증하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위해 서울과 경기도 지역에 소재한 중학교 3개와 고등학교 4개를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 총 237명의 학생이 설문에 응답하였으며, 응답 신뢰성을 검토한 후 최종적으로 230명의 자료를 분석에 사용하였다. 분석 도구로는 구조방정식모형(SEM)을 기반으로 한 잠재평균분석(Latent Mean Analysis)을 실시하였다. 결과 중학교 학생들은 학습지속성과 진로준비행동에서 고등학교 학생들에 비해 유의미하게 높은 잠재평균을 나타냈다. 이는 중학교 단계에서 환경 교과를 통한 학습 동기와 진로 탐색이 더 적극적으로 이루어지고 있음을 시사한다. 또한 학생들은 환경 교과의 유용가치를 진로적 측면보다는 일상적 측면에서 더 높게 평가하였다. 특히, 환경 교과를 통해 학습한 내용이 일상생활에서 실질적으로 적용 가능하다고 느낄 때, 해당 과목에 대한 흥미와 몰입이 증가하였다. 결론 본 연구는 환경 교과의 유용가치가 학생들의 학습 지속성과 진로 준비 행동에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 점을 실증적으로 확인하였으며, 중학교 단계에서 환경 교과 교육을 강화할 필요성을 강조하였다. 또한, 고등학교 단계에서는 학습 동기를 유지하고 발전 시키기 위한 정책적·교육적 지원이 필요함을 제언하였다. 후속 연구로는 환경 교과의 장기적 영향을 검토하고, 학생들의 인식을심층적인 탐구의 필요성을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to examine the differences in perceptions of the utility value of environmental educa tion, learning persistence, and career preparation behavior among middle and high school students. Methods Data from a survey of 230 middle and high school students in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were ana lyzed using latent mean analysis (LMA) within a structural equation modeling framework. Results The analysis confirmed configural, metric, scalar, and factor variance invariance across the groups. The latent mean analysis, using the middle school group as the reference, revealed that the middle school group ex hibited higher levels of learning persistence and career preparation behavior compared to the high school group. Conclusions These findings suggest the need for more systematic intervention and support at the middle school level to sustain continuous learning in the environmental field and to explore careers that align with students' inter ests and aptitudes. Educational implications and suggestions for effectively conveying the utility value of environ mental education, as well as recommendations for future research, are discussed.
