텍스트 마이닝과 토픽 모델링을 활용한 COVID-19 이전 시기와 COVID-19 시기 대학생 진로 관련 언론기사 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 대학생 진로와 관련된 다양한 고려사항들을 확인하고 효과적인 대학생 진로 지원을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 COVID-19 이전 시기 및 COVID-19 시기의 ‘대학생 진로’에 대한 사회적 인식 변화를 확인하고자 한다. 방법 이를 위해 대상 기간을 COVID-19 이전 시기(2018년 1월 1일 ~ 2019년 12월 31일)와 COVID-19 시기(2020년 1월 1일 ~ 2021년 12월 31일)로 구분하고, 뉴스 빅데이터 분석 사이트인 빅카인즈를 활용하여 대학생 진로가 포함된 언론기사를 각각 76건 및 81건을 선정하였다. 선정된 언론기사는 텍스톰을 활용하여 분석하였으며, 텍스트 마이닝과 토픽 모델링을 통해 결과를 도출하였다. 결과 분석 결과, COVID-19 이전 시기에는 오프라인 중심의 진로 고민이 중심을 이뤘다면, COVID-19 시기에는 온라인 중심의 진로 활동으로 전환되었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, COVID-19로 인하여 대학생들은 진로 관련 지역적 범위 축소, 진로 준비 활동의 제약, 진로 방향의 변화, 심리적인 어려움 등과 같은 직·간접적인 변화를 겪고 있었다. 한편, COVID-19 이전 시기와 COVID-19 시기의 대학생 진로 관련 토픽 모델링 분석 결과, COVID-19 이전 시기와 COVID-19 시기에 각각 5개와 3개 토픽이 도출되었다. 결론 언론기사 분석을 통하여 COVID-19 이전 시기에는 진로의 의미를 ‘일자리’의 의미로 인식한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. COVID-19로 인하여 기존 대학생 진로와 관련된 모든 사항이 기존과는 다른 형태로 변모하였듯이 효과적인 대학생 진로 지원방안을 모색해볼 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to identify changes in social perception of ‘college student career’ before and during COVID-19 in order to identify various considerations related to college student career path and provide basic data for effective college student career support. Methods For this purpose, the period before and during COVID-19 are divided into the pre-COVID-19 period (January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019) and the COVID-19 period (January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021), and 76 and 81 media articles were selected using BIGKinds, a news big data site, respectively. The articles were ana lyzed using Textom, and text mining and topic modeling were used for the analysis. Results As a result, it was confirmed that while offline-centered career concerns were centered before COVID-19, the transition to online-centered career activities during COVID-19 was confirmed. In addition, due to COVID-19, college students have experienced direct and indirect changes such as reduction in career-related regional scope, restrictions on career preparation activities, changes in career direction, and psychological difficulties. Meanwhile, as a result of the topic modeling analysis related to college students' career before and during COVID-19, 5 and 3 topics were derived, respectively. Conclusions Through the analysis of media articles, it was found that the meaning of career was recognized as the meaning of ‘job’ before COVID-19. As all matters related to the existing college student career have been transformed into a different form due to COVID-19, we expected to be able to find effective ways to support col lege students’ career.
