전통 목침의 유형별 조형 연구

국문 초록

한국 문화가 세계적인 관심을 받는 현대에 공예 분야 또한 전통문화와 소재, 기법, 형태 등 전통과 기술이 융합된 제품개발이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 단순히 사용 목적을 위해 만들었음에도 그 가치와 조형 및 디자인적 요소가 탁월한 목공예품의 조형 분석을 통한 조형 요소의 기초데이터 구축을 목적으로 한다. 연구 대상으로 목침을 분석하여 조형 요소를 추출하고 전통공예품의 그것을 현대디자인에 응용하고 발전시킬 수 있는 기초 조형의 토대를 마련한다. 연구 방법은 우리나라 대표 박물관에서 소장하고 있는 목침 103점의 자료를 수집하여 형태적 특징에 따라 유형별로 분류하고 각각의 특징적 요소들을 분석하였다. 그 결과 목침은 사각형, 접이형, 팔걸이형, 서랍형, 함형 외 8가지 형태로 분류할 수 있었고, 각 유형별로 조형의 특징과 구조, 장식적 요소를 추출하여 목침의 기초 조형 요소를 정리하였다. 본 연구의 조형 분석을 통한 구조 및 디자인 기초 조형 요소 제시는 목침의 조형 요소들을 응용하여 재해석하고, 그 활용 방법을 찾아 새로운 공예품 개발에 다양한 시도와 현대디자인에 적극적으로 활용할 수 있도록 하여 우리나라의 공예계에 이바지할 수 있는 기초자료가 되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

In the modern era when Korean culture is receiving global attention, the craft sector also needs to develop products that combine traditional culture with traditional technologies such as materials, techniques, and forms. Therefore, this study aims to build foundational data on formative elements through formative analysis of woodcraft that have excellent value, formative and design elements even though they were made for simple use purposes. By extracting elements through Wooden Pillow's formative analysis as the subject of the study, it lays the foundation for a basic molding that can apply and develop the foundational data of traditional crafts to modern design. The research method collected 103 Wooden Pillow items owned by representative museums in Korea, classified them by type according to their morphological characteristics, and analyzed each characteristic element. As a result, Wooden Pillow could be classified into eight types, including square, folding, armrest, drawer, and box, and the foundational data of Wooden Pillow were organized by extracting the features, structure, and decorative elements of each type. The presentation of design and structural basic molding elements through the formative analysis of this study is expected to serve as basic data to contribute to Korea's craft industry by applying Wooden Pillow's foundational data and actively utilizing them in various attempts and modern designs to find ways to utilize them.
