국문 초록
이 연구는 청소년의 공격성에 대한 예방과 개입을 위한 경험적 근거를 제공하기 위하여 연구되었다. 이를 위하여 국내의 청소년을 대상으로 사회적 위축이공격성에 미치는 영향에서 스마트폰 의존도의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 이 연구는 한국청소년정책연구원의 한국 아동ㆍ청소년 패널조사 중 중학교 1학년부터3학년을 대상으로 실시한 2018년부터 2019년, 2020년까지 총 7,304명의응답자료가 활용되었다. 변수들 간의 종단적 매개효과 분석을 위해서 자기회귀교차지연(Cross-Lagged Autoregressive Model)모형이 활용되었으며, 모수의 추정을 위해서는 SPSS 25.0과 Mplus ver.8이 사용되었다. 연구결과, 사회적 위축과 공격성, 그리고 스마트폰 의존도는 모두 정(+)적인 상관이 관찰되었다. 청소년의 사회적 위축(중1)은 다음 시점의 스마트폰 의존도(중2)에 유의한영향을 미쳤으며, 중2 시점의 스마트폰 의존도 또한 다음 시점의 공격성(중3)에유의한 영향을 미침이 확인되어 종단적 매개효과를 확인하였다. 사회적 위축이시간이 지남에 따라 스마트폰 의존도에 영향을 미치고, 이후의 공격성을 예측하였다. 이 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 청소년기 공격성의 개입에 대한 함의를 하였다. 마지막으로 연구의 제한점과 후속연구에 대한 제안 등을 논의하였다.
영문 초록
This study aimed to provide empirical evidence for the prevention and intervention of adolescent aggression. To this end, it examined the mediating effect of smartphone dependency on the relationship between social withdrawal and aggression among adolescents in South Korea. The study utilized data from the Korea Youth Policy Institute's Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS), specifically responses from 7,304 middle school students collected over three waves from 2018 to 2020.
To analyze the longitudinal mediating effects among the variables, a Cross-Lagged Autoregressive Model was employed. The estimation of parameters was conducted using SPSS 25.0 and Mplus ver.8. The results revealed that social withdrawal, aggression, and smartphone dependency were all positively correlated. Social withdrawal in the first year significantly influenced smartphone dependency in the following year. Furthermore, smartphone dependency in the second year significantly influenced aggression in the third year, confirming the longitudinal mediating effect.
These findings suggest that social withdrawal over time influences smartphone dependency, which subsequently predicts future aggression. Based on these results, the study provided implications for interventions targeting adolescent aggression. Lastly, it discussed the study's limitations and proposed directions for future research.
