한국어 교재 말하기 영역의 맥락 변인 분석 연구

국문 초록

본고의 목적은 외국인 학습자를 위한 한국어 교재의 말하기 영역의 맥락 변인을 분석하는 데에 있었다. 분석 대상은 한국어 교재 3종 36권의 말하기 영역의 맥락 변인이었다. 대화 참여자 간 거리, 힘, 부담도, 격식성, 네 가지 변인을 기준으로 하여 연역적으로 코딩하였고 IBM SPSS Statistics 29.0을 이용해 카이제곱 검정을 하였다. 분석 결과 대부분 특정 변인에 편중되었고 수준별 차이도 통계적으로 유의미하지 않거나 유의미할지라도 효과 크기가 크지 않았다. 교재 지문이 여러 모습으로 맥락화되지 않고 등급별로 차별화되지 않아 화용 능력 발달은 기대하기 어려웠다. 이에 교재 개작 형식으로 개선 방안 두 가지를 제안하였다. 목표 문법의 화용 정보가 교수 내용일 때는 단일 변인 조작 연습으로, 화행이 과제일 때는 다중 변인 조작 연습으로 설계하였다. 실용성을 우선으로 한 방법이었으므로 향후에는 독립적이고 체계적인 화용 교육 방안 마련과 교재 반영이 이루어져야 하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the context variables of the speaking section in Korean language textbooks for foreign learners. The target was the context variables of the speaking section in thirty-six textbooks of three types. The four variables of distance, power, imposition, and formality were deductively coded and analyzed using the chi-square test by IBM SPSS Statistics 29.0. The results shows that they were mostly biased toward specific variables, and the differences by proficiency were not statistically significant or the effect size was mostly small. Since the texts were not contextualized in various ways and were not differentiated by level, the development of pragmatic competence was hardly expected. Two improvement plans were proposed as a method of textbook adaptation. When the target grammar’s pragmatic information was the teaching content, a single variable manipulation exercise was assigned, and when the speech act was the task, a multiple variable manipulation exercise was presented. As these were a method that prioritized practicality, in the future, an independent and systematic pragmatics education plan should be established and reflected in textbooks.
