국문 초록

The verb PARECER (seem) used in the attributive constructions in Spanish has the properties of the copula SER. Those two attributive constructions are derived from Small Clause (Moro, 1991). In both sentences the subject and verb agree in gender and number and the attribute can be replaced by neuter article LO. So, Korean students have difficulty distinguishing between the verb PARECER in attributive constructions and the copula SER. This paper aims to suggest a revised analysis of the verb PARECER in attributive constructions in Spanish. With reference to this aspect, we suppose that the verb PARECER in the attributive constructions and the copula SER contain the small clause, but it is different the derivation process. In relation to this view, We suppose that the copula SER is defined as the functional category with small clause. And We propose that the verb PARECER in the attributive constructions, the verb SER ‘existence’ and the verb ESTAR have the properties of the lexical category.
