국문 초록

Objectives: This study aimed to use data from the Community Health Survey to compare and analyze the subjective overall health and oral health levels of single-person and multi-person households in South Korea. Methods: Data from 2020 to 2022, were analyzed, and the final study population consisted of a total of 690,296 individuals (weighted sample of 130,873,641). Results: Over the three years, the proportion of single-person households increased from 12.3% to 14.6%, while that of multi-person households decreased from 87.7% to 85.4%. The subjective health status of multi-person households declined from 53.6% in 2020 to 46.8% in 2022, while for single-person households, it decreased from 46.4% to 40.2% over the same period. The subjective oral health status also decreased over time in both household types. Notably, the subjective oral health status of women aged over 65 years in single-person households (16.3%) was significantly lower compared to men aged 19-39 years in multi-person households (40.7%). Conclusions: This study confirmed the correlation between subjective overall health and oral health in single-person and multi-person households, and provided essential baseline data for promoting health and oral health outcomes based on household composition.
