국문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to organize the achievements of the Society of Sports Korean Medicine to mark its 40th anniversary. Methods We investigated and recorded literature related to the past activities of the society and investigated the vision related to the future blueprint of the current leadership of the society. Results Since its establishment in 1984, the Society of Sports Korean Medicine has been working to improve the performance and treatment of athletes participating in the international and domestic sports events for 40 years. It has been practicing various non-surgical treatment methods such as acupuncture, chuna manual medicine, and balance taping. Also, the society has conducted various academic studies related to this. With these efforts, the Society of Sports Korean Medicine has established itself as an academic society leading sports medicine, receiving high praise from athletes from all over the world in the international sports events. Conclusions The Society of Sports Korean Medicine should focus on establishing academic grounds through the production of textbooks and establishment of journals, and should establish a foundation for more sports medicine experts to work in international sports settings through academic exchanges as well as treating athletes of various nationalities. These achievements should be shared with various organizations in the Korean Medicine and sports community, and their influence should be expanded, and they should be reborn as an society that leads non-surgical treatment methods in various sports events.
