한국 간호대학생의 일본병원 임상실습 경험에 관한 포커스그룹 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 일본병원 임상실습에서의 한국 간호대학생의 경험을 탐색하고자 시도되었다. 방법 이를 위하여 3학년 1학기 종료 후 일본병원 임상실습에 참여한 일 대학 간호대학생 14명의 포커스그룹 면담, 현장노트 및 실습일지를 질적주제분석 방법으로 분석하였다. 자료수집은 2018년 7월 한 달간 이루어졌다. 결과 연구참여자들의 일본병원 임상실습 경험은 4개의 주제와 9개의 하위주제로 도출되었다. ‘간호역량의 강화’의 하위주제는 다양한 기본간호 실습 기회, 전문화된 노인 간호 체험, 이상적인 간호사 상 설정이었고, ‘의미있는 관계를 통한 성장’의 하위주제는 간호사와의 상호작용을 통한 자존감 향상, 언어적 장벽을 뛰어넘는 환자와의 유대감이었다. ‘글로벌 간호에 대한 관심 증가’의 하위주제는 국가 간 보건의료 문화에 대한 이해 증진, 외국어 학습과 해외 취업에 대한 동기부여였고, ‘이방인 실습생으로 겪는 고충’의 하위주제는 언어와 문화적 차이에 따른 제약, 실습 환경의 차이로 인한 어려움으로 도출되었다. 결론 일본병원 임상실습 경험은 참여자들로 하여금 선진 간호문화 및 임상 현장의 다양성을 체험하며 역량있는 간호사로 성장할 수 있는 기회가 되었다. 본 연구는 향후 일본병원 임상실습에 대한 간호실무자와 교육자 및 학생에 대한 기초자료와 시사점을 제시하고 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study attempted to explore the experiences of Korean nursing students in clinical practice in Japanese hospitals. Methods Focus group interviews, field notes, and practicum diaries of 14 Korean nursing students who participated in clinical practice in a Japanese hospital after the end of the first semester of their third year were analyzed using qualitative thematic analysis. Data collection took place during the month of July 2018. Results Four themes and nine sub-themes were extracted from the study participants' clinical practice experiences in Japanese hospitals. The sub-themes of ‘strengthening nursing competence’ were various basic nursing practice opportunities, specialised geriatric nursing experiences and establishing an ideal nursing image, while the sub-themes of ‘growth through meaningful relationships’ were improving self-esteem through interaction with nurses and bonding with patients across language barriers. The sub-themes of ‘increased interest in global nursing’ were improved understanding of healthcare cultures in different countries, motivation to learn foreign languages and work abroad, and the sub-themes of ‘challenges of being a foreign trainee’ were limitations due to language and cultural differences and difficulties due to different practice settings. Conclusions The clinical practicum experience in Japanese hospitals was an opportunity for the participants to grow as competent nurses by experiencing the advanced nursing culture and diversity of clinical practice. This study provides basic data and implications for nursing practitioners, educators, and students on future clinical practicum in Japanese hospitals.
