검정 초등 수학교과서에 나타난 의사소통 역량 분석

국문 초록

학생들은 수학 내용을 배우면서 의사소통 역량도 함양해야 한다. 이를 위해 서는 수학교과서에 제시된 활동들이 수학적 의사소통 능력을 함양하기 위한 다양한 요소들을 융합적으로 포함하고 있어야 한다. 기존 수학교과서를 분석한 연구자들은 수학적 표현의 이해와 같은 특정 요소만이 강조되고, 타인의 생각 이해와 같은 특정 요소는 거의 다루지 않고 있음을 지적하고 있었다. 따라서 본 연구는 최근에 개발되어 사용 중인 두 종의 검정 초등 수학교과서에 의사소통 역량이 어떻게 반영되었는지 분석하였다. 분석 결과로부터, 연구자들이 기존 수학교과서들을 분석하면서 지적한 문제점들이 개선되지 않았음을 확인할 수 있었다. 외국 수학교과서의 사례를 통해서 우리나라 수학교과서도 이 의사소통 역량 활동이 강화될 것을 제안한다.

영문 초록

Students should develop their communication competency while learning mathematics contents. In order to achieve this, various elements of mathematical communication competency must be amalgamated into the activities presented in mathematics textbooks. Researchers who analyzed existing mathematics textbooks pointed out that only certain elements, such as understanding mathematical expressions, were emphasized, and few specific elements, such as understanding other people's thoughts, were addressed. Therefore, this study analyzed how elements of communication competency were reflected in the two recently developed and used government authorized elementary mathematics textbooks. From the analysis results, it was confirmed that the problems pointed out by the researchers while analyzing the existing mathematics textbooks were not improved. Through examples of foreign mathematics textbooks which reflect the communication competency, it is suggested that Korean mathematics textbooks should also strengthen their communication competency activities.
