국문 초록

격대(隔代) 교육은 현대 가정에서 아동 양육의 중요한 방식으로 자리 잡았으며, 특히 조부모는 유수아동(留守儿童)의 성장 과정에 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있다. 따라서 격대교육이 유수아동의 학업 성취에 미치는 영향을 심층적으로 분석하는 것은 매우 중요한 과제이다. 본 연구는 2013-2014년 중국 교육 추적 조사 데이터를 활용하여 격대교육과 유수아동의 학업 성취 간의 인과관계를 실증적으로 분석했다. 연구 결과, 부모 양육 집단과 비교했을 때 조부모 양육은 전반적으로 유수아동의 학업 성취 향상에 기여하는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 조부모가 전적으로 양육을 담당하는 경우 그 효과가 가장 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 또한, 성별 및 형제자매 유무에 따른 차이를 분석한 결과, 격대교육은 여아 및 외동아동보다 남아 및 형제자매가 있는 아동의 학업 성취에 더욱 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 현재 중국은 인구 고령화가 가속화되고 있으며, 세 자녀 정책 시행으로 인해 형제자매가 있는 가정과 격대교육이 증가할 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 자녀의 교육의 질을 향상시키고 고령 인력 자원을 효율적으로 활용하며, 아동의 학습과 심신 건강 증진을 위해 격대교육의 가족 모델을 최적화하는 관련 정책 마련이 시급하다.

영문 초록

Intergenerational parenting has become an important model of child rearing in current families, and grandparents play an important role in the growth process of rural left-behind children. It is particularly important to explore the impact of intergenerational parenting on academic performance of rural left-behind children as comprehensively as possible. Based on the data of the 2013-2014 Chinese Education Panel Survey(CEPS), this paper empirically studies the causal effect of intergenerational parenting and academic performance of rural left-behind children. The results show that: compared with the control group raised by parents, the provision of intergenerational education is generally beneficial to the improvement of the academic performance of rural left-behind children, and the effect of complete intergenerational education is the most obvious; Heterogeneity analysis found that, compared with the left-behind girls and only children, the left-behind boys and non-only children were more significantly affected by the left-behind boys and non-only children. With the accelerated development of China’s aging population and the implementation of the three-child policy, there will be more and more non-only-child and intergenerational families. Relevant policies should be introduced to optimize the family model of intergenerational education to improve the education quality of children and make full use of aging human resources to promote children's learning and physical and mental health.
