국문 초록

본 연구는 교육 활동에서 테크놀로지의 위상과 역할을 탐구하고, 이를 활동이 론과 현대 테크놀로지 이론으로 비교 분석하였다. 활동이론은 테크놀로지를 인간 의 목적 달성을 위한 도구로 간주하며, 인간의 목표 지향적 활동에서 필수적인 매개물로 다루지만, 그 자율성은 인정하지 않는다. 비고츠키와 레온티에프의 이론을 기반으로 한 활동이론은 테크놀로지를 인간 의도에 종속된 도구로 제한하는 반면, 엥게스트룀의 확장학습 이론은 테크놀로지의 더 넓은 역할을 제시하나 여전히 인 간 중심적 한계를 벗어나지 못한다. 반면, 현대 테크놀로지 이론은 테크놀로지를 인간과 대등한 자율적 행위자로 간주하며, 스스로 교육 환경을 변화시키고 학습 과 정을 재구성할 수 있는 능동적 역할을 부여한다. 본 논문은 두 관점을 비교하여, 교 육에서 테크놀로지가 단순한 도구를 넘어 자율적 행위자로서의 가능성을 모색할 필요성을 제시하며, 이를 통해 테크놀로지가 미래의 교육 환경에서 중요한 역할을 수행할 수 있음을 논의한다.

영문 초록

This study examines the status and role of technology in educational activities through a comparative analysis of activity theory and contemporary technology theory. Activity theory conceptualizes technology as a tool for achieving human goals, emphasizing its role as a medium for goal-oriented actions while not recognizing its autonomy. Rooted in the theories of Vygotsky and Leontyev, activity theory restricts technology to a subordinate role under human intentions. While Engestrom’s expanded activity theory broadens this view, it remains anthropocentric. In contrast, contemporary technology theory positions technology as an autonomous actor, equivalent to humans, actively transforming educational environments and reshaping learning processes. By comparing these perspectives, this paper highlights the importance of reconceptualizing technology in education as an autonomous agent rather than a mere tool, underscoring its potential to play a pivotal role in the future of education.
