발달장애인 활동지원사들의 확장학습 경험에 관한 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 발달장애인 평생교육 활동지원사들이 ‘웰투게더’에 참여하게 된 과정을 살펴보고, 확장학습경험 사례를 통해 그들의 성장과 변화를 탐구하였다. 이를 위해 3년 이상 프로그램에 참여한 활동지원사 5명을 선정하였고, 경험을 탐구하고 의미를 밝히는 데 적합한 질적 사례연구를 통해 다음과 같은 연구 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 활동지원사들은 개인적 위기와 인정 욕구로 활동지원사로 참여하게 되었고 이를 통해 사회적 역할을 확립하고 발달장애인에 대한 이해를 확장하였다. 둘째, 활동지원사들은 갈등과 혼란을 겪으며 협력과 자기 성찰을 통해 확장학습을 경험하고 실현하는 학습을 하였다. 셋째, 발달장애인과의 상호작용을 통해 상생의 가치를 실현하고 활동지원사로서 사회적 책임을 다하는 역할로 성장하고 변화하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 확장학습이론을 적용한 평생교육의 실천적 사례로 활동지원사들의 학습경험이 가지는 의미와 의의를 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study explored the process by which lifelong education activity supporters for individuals with developmental disabilities participated in the ‘Well Together’ program and examined their growth and transformation through case studies of expansive learning experiences. Five activity supporters who had participated in the program for more than three years were selected as participants, and a qualitative case study methodology was employed to investigate their experiences and uncover their significance. First, the activity supporters participated in the program due to personal crises and a desire for social recognition, through which they established their social roles and deepened their understanding of individuals with developmental disabilities. Second, they experienced conflicts and challenges, which provided opportunities for collaborative learning and selfreflection, leading to the realization and implementation of expansive learning. Third, through interactions with individuals with developmental disabilities, they embodied the value of coexistence and evolved into socially responsible activity supporters. Based on these findings, the study discussed the significance and implications of the activity supporters’ learning experiences as a practical case of lifelong education grounded in expansive learning theory.
