국문 초록

본 연구에서는 공항과 항공사를 중심으로 COVID-19이 서비스산업 생산성 변화에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해, 한국항공협회 항공통계에서 제공하는 공항 및 항공사와 관련한 통계 자료를 활용하였으며, 2018년부터 2023년까지를 분석하였고, COVID-19의 유행을 기준으로 세 기간으로 나누어 연구를 진행하였다. 우선 맘퀴스트 생산성 지수를 활용하여 생산성의 변화를 알아보기 위해, 여객기 운항편수와 여객기 보급석수를 투입변수, 유임 및 환승 여객 명수와 여객기 화물총톤수를 산출변수로써 사용하였다. 이후, 2018년과 2019년을 첫 번째 그룹, 2020년과 2021년을 두 번째 그룹, 2022년과 2023년을 세 번째 그룹으로 지정하여 크루스칼-왈리스 검정을 시행하여 COVID-19이 서비스산업 생산성 변화에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 연구결과, 전반적으로 COVID-19과 기술 변화지수의 변화가 국내 공항과 국내 공항 취항 항공사의 여객기 부문 생산성 변화를 유도해낸다는 것을 파악할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the impact of COVID-19 on productivity changes in the service industry, specifically focusing on airports and airlines. To achieve this, aviation statistics from the Korea Aviation Association, covering the period from 2018 to 2023, were analyzed. The analysis divides the timeline into three distinct phases based on the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. First, the Malmquist productivity index was applied to assess productivity shifts, using the number of passenger flights and available seat kilometers as input variables, and the number of paying and connecting passengers, alongside the total tonnage of air cargo, as output variables. Following this, the Kruskal-Wallis test was conducted to examine the pandemic's impact on service industry productivity, categorizing the years 2018-2019 as the first group, 2020-2021 as the second, and 2022-2023 as the third. The findings indicate that changes in the technological change index were the primary drivers behind shifts in the Malmquist productivity index.
