국문 초록

오늘날 대학생들에게는 자기 주도적 목표 설정과 실행 능력이 요구되며, 이를 위해 셀프리더십은 필수적인 역량으로 떠오르고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 문학 독서 교육이 담당할 수 있는 가능성을 찾아보았다. 이를 위해 셀프리더십 개념을 고찰하고, 대학생에게 있어 셀프리더십의 중요성과 의미를 탐구하였다. 그리고 헤르만 헤세의 『데미안』과 『싯다르타』 텍스트를 분석하여 두 작품의 서사가 대학생이 함양해야 할 셀프리더십과 어떻게 연관되는지를 논의하였다. 헤세의 위 두 작품의 주인공들은 내면을 깊이 탐구하고 자아를 발견하며, 주도적으로 삶을 이끌어 나간다. 이러한 여정은 대학생들에게 자기 동기 부여와 자기효능감을 키워 독립적인 존재로 나아가는 중요한 지침이 될 수 있다. 또한 문학 독서 교육은 단순한 책 읽기나 내용 이해를 넘어 문학의 성찰적 가치를 일깨우고, 이를 삶에 적용하여 문학적 경험을 통해 스스로 리더십을 확립할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Today’s college students are required to set self-directed goals and execute them, making self-leadership an essential competency. This study explores the potential of literature reading education in fostering this capability. To this end, the concept of self-leadership is examined, exploring its importance and meaning for college students. Hermann Hesse’s『Demian』and『Siddhartha』 were analyzed to discuss how the narratives in these two works are connected to the self-leadership that students need to develop. The protagonists in these two works by Hesse delve deeply into their inner worlds, discover their true selves, and proactively lead their lives. This journey can serve as a significant guide for students in cultivating selfmotivation and self-efficacy, ultimately growing into independent beings. Moreover, literature reading education goes beyond merely reading books or understanding content; it brings forth literature’s reflective value, applying it to life and providing opportunities to establish self-leadership through literary experiences.
