영화 ‘샤인(Shine)’에 나타난 조현병에 대한 사례 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 영화 ‘샤인(Shine)’의 주인공 ‘데이빗(David)’의 조현병 사례를 분석하여, 조현병의 발병 원인과 치유 과정을 파악하고자 하였다. 영화의 주요장면에서 나타난 주요 생활사건에 해당되는 가족의 대사, 비언어적 태도 및 행동으로 나타나는 특징을 텍스트화하여 ‘메트릭스(Matrix)’ 분석 방법으로 정리하여 조현병의 유발 요인 ‘취약성-스트레스 모델’에 적용하여 분석하였다. ‘데이빗(Davd)’의 조현병은 유전적 요인, 가정 내 갈등, 극심한 스트레스가 복합적으로 작용한 결과로 보인다. 특히 아버지의 강압적이고 이중적인 양육 방식, 사회적 고립, 유학과 콩쿨의 실패, 멘토의 죽음, 난곡 도전 등이 주요 발병 원인으로 작용하였다. ‘데이빗(David)’은 아내 ‘길리언(Gillian)’의 지지와 돌봄으로 긍정적인 인간관계를 통해 점차 치유되어 가고 있었다. 이에 따라 치료적 접근에서 부모양육 태도 및 상담자의 지지와 돌봄의 시사점을 제시하였다. 또한 상호간의 손상을 피하면서도 내면의 공격성을 안전하게 표출하고 이를 통해 유대감을 강화할 수 있는 문화적 장(場)을 확산시키는 등의 프로그램 개발을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the schizophrenia case of ‘David’, the main character of the movie ‘shine’, and sought to understand the cause of schizophrenia and the treatment process The characteristics of the family's dialogue, nonverbal attitudes, and behaviors corresponding to the major life events in the main scenes of the movie were expressed in text form and organized using the 'Matrix' analysis method. The text was then analyzed by applying it to the 'vulnerability-stress model', A factor causing schizophrenia. ‘David’ schizophrenia appears to be the result of a combination of genetic factors, family conflict, and extreme stress. In particular, the main causes of the disease were the father's coercive and duplicitous parenting style, social isolation, failure in studying abroad and competitions, the death of a mentor, and the challenge of difficult pieces. ‘David’ was gradually healing through positive interpersonal relationships with the support and care of his wife, Gillian. Accordingly, implications for parenting attitudes and counselor support and care were presented in the therapeutic approach. In addition, it was proposed to develop a program to expand a cultural space where internal aggression can be safely expressed and bonds can be strengthened while avoiding mutual damage.
