다문화그림책 제작을 통한 예비유아교사들의 다문화 인식 의미 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 예비유아교사들의 다문화 인식개선을 위한 방안으로 영유아를 위한 다문화그림책을 제작하고 예비유아교사들의 다문화 인식변화를 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구참여자는 G시 S대학교 예비유아교사 11명으로 그림책 제작 과정에서 수집된 자료는 스트라우스와 코빈(Strauss & Corbin)이 제시한 개방 코딩에 따라 분석하였다. 연구결과 학생들은 다양한 디지털 기술 활용, 팀별 상이한 팀워크 발휘를 통한 다양성 경험, 작가의 세계 등 새로운 경험이었고, 다문화그림책과 연계활동을 구상하고 문학적 접근법을 제시함으로써 다문화교육 실천에 대한 자신감을 가졌다. 또한 학생들은 일반 그림책에서 다문화 요소 발견하고, 다문화교육은 모두를 위한 교육이며 비판적 사고를 통하여 다문화에 대한 인식을 재구성하였다. 학생들의 다문화그림책을 유아교육기관에서 적용하여 볼 것을 제안하며, 나아가 다문화 요소가 골고루 포함된 그림책이 지속해서 창작되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the experiences of 11 prospective early childhood teachers at S University in G City who created multicultural picture books for infants and toddlers to enhance multicultural awareness. Data were collected and analyzed using the open coding method proposed by Strauss and Corbin. The results showed that students gained new experiences, such as using various digital technologies, gaining insights into diversity through teamwork with varied team dynamics, and exploring the world of authorship. Through the process, they proposed multicultural picture books and related activities as a literary approach, which enhanced their confidence in implementing multicultural education. Additionally, students identified multicultural elements in general picture books and reshaped their understanding of multiculturalism, embracing the idea that multicultural education is for everyone. It is recommended that these multicultural picture books be used in early childhood education settings, with the expectation that picture books with balanced multicultural elements will continue to be developed.
