베이스볼5(Baseball5)의 특성과 발전가능성을 위한 탐색적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 전 세계적으로 급성장하고 있는 새로운 스포츠인 베이스볼5의 특성과 발전 가능성에 대한 기초자료를제공하는 것에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 베이스볼5 국가대표선수, 지도자 그리고 협회 관계자 등 총 7명의 연구대상자를 선정하였다. 이후 심층면담, 참여관찰(participant observation)과 비참여관찰(non-participant observation) 등을통해 자료를 수집하였다. 또한, Colaizzi의 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하여 전체 연구자들이 공통으로 느낀 의미의속성을 추출하고자 하였다. 연구자료를 분석한 결과, 구성된 의미 73개, 주제 34개, 주제 모음 8개, 범주 3개를 도출하였다. 본질적 주제로는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 야구의 세계화를 위해 탄생 된 베이스볼5는 경기 규칙의 간소화를 통해혁신적이고 현대적인 스포츠로 자리매김한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 베이스볼5는 학교체육, 생활체육, 엘리트체육의영역으로 발전이 가능한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대한야구소프트볼협회(KBSA)와 한국프로야구(KBO)의 역할이 중요하며, 두 조직이 발전을 위한 협력을 통해 지속적인 노력과 전략적인 계획 확보가 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 베이스볼5 뿐만 아니라, 야구와 소프트볼의 향후 발전을 위한 참고자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to provide foundation data on the characteristics and development potential of Baseball5, a rapidly growing around the world. For this purpose, 7 participants - including national Baseball5 players, coaches, and association officials were selected. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and non-participant observation. Using the Colaizzi phenomenological method was applied to extract the attributes of meanings commonly perceived by all researchers. Analysis of the research data, 73 organized meanings, 34 themes, 8 topic collections, and 3 categories were derived. The essential themes are as follows. First, Baseball5, which was created for the globalization of baseball, has established itself as an innovative and modern sport by simplifying the rules of the game. Second, Baseball5 can be developed into the realm of school sports, recreational sports, and elite sports. Third, the role of the two organizations(KBSA and KBO) are important and requires continued efforts and strategic planning through collaboration for development. This study can be used as a reference for the future development of baseball and softball as well as Baseball5.
