지역캐릭터 활용사례 분석을 통한 활성화 방안 연구: 경북북부권 지역캐릭터 활용사례 분석을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 지역의 정체성을 확립하고 지역 관광 기반 지역경제 활성화를 위한 핵심 마중물로서 활용성이 높은 지역캐 릭터에 대한 주요 활용사례를 분석하고 지역 상징과 함께 지역 대표적 킬러콘텐츠로서 의미와 가치를 지니기 위해 지역캐 릭터 활성화 방안을 제시하고자 한다 우리나라 지자체 . 거의 대부분은 지역만의 캐릭터를 개발한 상황이지만 유사한 디자인, 모호한 정체성, 활용성 부족 등의 이유로 그 활용성과가 미비한 것이 현실이다. 이는 정책적, 행정적 목적을 중심으로 캐릭터에 접근하고 있기 때문일 것이다. 경북북부권 11개 지자체 모두 지역캐릭터가 개발되어 있으며, 각자의 방식을 통해 활용되고 있다. 하지만 극히 일부 캐릭터 활용 사례를 제외하고는 지역문화콘텐츠로서 의미와 가치가 미비한 상황이다. 특히 안동시 대표적 캐릭터로 애니 메이션 및 캐릭터 등 다양한 콘텐츠로 활용되어 부가가치를 창출하고 있는 엄마까투리의 경우 공식적인 안동시 지역캐릭 터가 아닌 상업적 목적으로 개발된 일종의 부캐릭터로 활용되고 있으며, 본 연구에서 제시한 7개 지자체 캐릭터 모두 그 활용도는 매우 낮은 상황이다. 지역 캐릭터들의 기획과 개발에 있어 5가지 요소의 고려가 필요하다. 지역성, 현실성, 지속성, 의외성, 활용성으로 특히 활용성을 고려한 캐릭터 기획 및 개발이 가장 중요할 것이다. 대부분의 지역캐릭터가 활용성에 대한 고민과 전략이 부족하여 개발된 캐릭터의 활용도가 자연스럽게 낮아지고 있기 때문이다. 이를 위해 캐릭터 활용의 다각화 모색이 필요하 다. 지역캐릭터로 지역에서만 소비되는 것이 아니라 타 지역 캐릭터와 연계 및 협업을 추진하고 다양한 캐릭터 관련 이벤트 등에 참여하는 방식으로 캐릭터 활용을 다각화할 수 있다. 유사한 지역성을 지니고 있는 경북북부권에 필요한 전략일 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to establish the identity of the region and to analyze the main application cases of the regional characters that are highly utilized as the core priming water for the activation of the regional economy based on the regional tourism, and to suggest the activation plan of the regional characters in order to have the meaning and value as the representative regional killer contents along with the regional symbols. As a local cultural content, the meaning and value of the local character is very high, and it is contents that can create various performances according to its utilization.,However, as mentioned above, there are only a few cases in which the official representative character among the seven major municipalities in the northern part of Gyeongbuk Province is actively utilized for regional revitalization.,Moreover, although the character has been developed, it is difficult to expect the performance to be created naturally due to the lack of utilization.,In this situation, in order for local characters to play an important role and function in revitalizing the region, efforts should be made to approach it from a new point of view, and a changed attitude is needed from character planning to development and utilization.,Above all, it is the character that can be differentiated from other regions and utilized as specialized contents, and it is also the character that can create various performances without big budget. Therefore, even now, efforts for new changes will be needed for each municipality.
