부모의 부정적 양육태도와 청소년 학업 무기력의 관계: 스마트폰 과의존과 자아존중감의 조절된 매개효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 부모의 부정적 양육 태도와 학업 무기력의 간의 관계에서 스마트폰 과의존이 매개하는지와 자아존중감이 조절하는지를 확인하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원에서 조사한 ‘한국 아동⋅청소년 패널조사 2018(Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018)’의 5차 년도(2022년) 중2의 데이터를 활용하여 분석하였다. SPSS 27.0과 SPSS Macro Process를 사용하여 부모의 부정적 양육 태도, 학업 무기력, 스마트폰 과의존, 자아존중감의 기술통계, 상관분석, 신뢰도 분석, 매개효과, 조절 효과, 조절된 매개효과를 분석하였다. 결과 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 부정적 양육 태도는 학업 무기력과 스마트폰 과의존에 정적 상관을, 자아존중감과는 부적 상관을 나타냈다. 둘째, 부모의 부정적 양육 태도와 학업 무기력 간의 관계에서 스마트폰 과의존의 부분 매개효과를 확인하였다. 셋째, 부모의 부정적 양육 태도가 스마트폰 과의존에 미치는 영향에서 자아존중감의 조절 효과를 확인하였다. 넷째, 부모의 부정적 양육 태도와 학업 무기력 간의 관계에서 스마트폰 과의존과 자아존중감의 조절된 매개효과를 확인하였다. 결론 본 연구는 부모의 부정적 양육 태도가 청소년의 학업 무기력과 스마트폰 과의존에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 자아존중감의 보호적 역할이 청소년을 위한 지원의 필요성을 제공하였다. 이 연구 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의를 제시하였고, 연구의 제한점 및 후속 연구의 방향을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aimed to examine whether smartphone overdependence mediates the relationship between negative parenting attitudes and academic helplessness, and wthether self-esteem moderates this relationship. Methods The analysis was conducted using data from the 5th wave (2022) of the ‘Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018(KCYPS 2018)’ focusing on 8th-grade students, as investigated by the National Youth Policy Institute. The study utilized SPSS 27.0 and SPSS Macro Process to examine descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, reliability analysis, mediating effects, moderating effects, and moderated mediation effects regarding negative parenting attitudes, academic helplessness, smartphone overdependence, and self-esteem. Results The research findings are as follows: First, negative parenting attitudes were positively correlated with academic helplessness and smartphone overdependence, and negatively correlated with self-esteem. Second, a partial mediating effect of smartphone overdependence was identified in the relationship between negative parenting attitudes and academic helplessness. Third, the moderating effect of self-esteem was observed in the influence of negative parenting attitudes on smartphone overdependence. Fourth, a moderated mediation effect of smartphone overdependence and self-esteem was identified in the relationship between negative parenting attitudes and academic helplessness. Conclusions This study examined the impact of negative parenting attitudes on adolescents’ academic helplessness and smartphone overdependence, highlighting the protective role of self-esteem and emphasizing the need for support for adolescents. Based on the findings the significance of the study was discussed, along with its limitations and suggestions for future research directions.
