국문 초록

본 연구는 종합대학의 교양과정으로서 다문화가족관련 강의가 다문화가족에 대한 인식변화에미친 영향과 인식변화에 영향을 미친 요인에 대한 분석을 실시하였다. 최근 다문화사회로의 변화가 급격하게 진행되면서 교,사대를 중심으로 교직소양을 위한 다문화 강좌가 많이 개설되고 있으나, 다문화 상황의 기저에 깔려있는 다문화 가족에 대한 이해를 다루는 내용이 부족하다. 다문화가정과 공존하기 위해서는 그들의 결혼 및 가족 구조에 대한 내용을 통해 보다 심도 깊은 이해를할 수 있는 교육내용이 필요하다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 다문화 가족에 대한 문화적 이해를 대학생이 가져야 할 문화적 역량이라고 보고, 대학생들이 다문화가족 관련 강의에서 어떠한 내용을배우고 싶은지 요구도 조사를 실시한 선행연구를 바탕으로 프로그램을 구성하고 프로그램의 사전,사후 조사를 통해 다문화 인식변화를 살펴보았다. 프로그램의 수행 결과 사전, 사후조사결과 처치집단과 통제집단의 다문화에 대한 인식은 처치집단이 유의미하게 상승한 것으로 나타났으며, 다문화 상황을 다룬 문제들을 토대로 수업을 구성한다면, 다문화 사회를 살아가는 사회인으로서 문화적 역량을 높이는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the families in the cultural diversity elective course on the students’ increasing cultural relevancy in a general university in Seoul. Based on the traditional experimental design, the pre-and post-perceptions on the cultural relevancy and ideologies were analyzed with the responses from the 67 students in the treatment group and 100 students in the comparison group. The results from this study showed that compared to the pre-perception means, the post-perception means were positively or agreeably improved/moved at the statistically significant levels among the treatment group whereas their counter parts were not in the comparison group. These results strongly evidenced the class' effects on the students in the treatment group; due to the educational experiences, students developed their cultural relevancy or gained cultural pluralism. In the analysis of treatment group, students reported that their cultural relevancy,knowledge, interests and paradigm has changed in the positive directions. In conclusions, we concluded that the class was very effective. Also authors of this study emphasized that it is important to provide students strong theoretical backgrounds, realistic PBL activities, and hands-on experiences in the class such as families in the cultural diversity course.
