베트남 북부 학습자들의 한국어 치경마찰음 습득 양상에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 베트남인 학습자의 한국어 치경마찰음 /ㅅ/과 /ㅆ/의 지각과 산출을 전체, 숙달도, 숙달도에 따른 어두와 어중 위치별 양상을 분석하고 효과적인 발음 교육의 기초자료 제공과 교육적 제언을 하는 데에 목적이 있다. 연구 결과, ① 베트남인 학습자들은 /ㅅ/ 산출, /ㅆ/ 지각과 산출의 정답빈도가 낮았다. ② /ㅅ/ 산출은 초·중· 고급에서, /ㅆ/의 지각과 산출은 초급, 중급에서 정답빈도가 낮았다. ③ 어두 /ㅅ/ 산출 정답빈도가 가장 낮았다. ④ 지각의 경우 어두 /ㅅ/은 중급, 어중 /ㅅ/은 초급, 어두 /ㅆ/은 중급, 어중 /ㅆ/은 고급부터 한국인 모어 화자와 근사한 수준의 습득에 이르렀다. ⑤ 산출의 경우 어두 /ㅅ/은 모든 숙달도 단계, 어중 /ㅅ/과 어두 /ㅆ/은 초급, 어중 /ㅆ/은 고급부터 한국인 모어 화자와 근사한 수준의 습득에 이르렀다. 이러한 결과를 통해 ① L1과 L2의 음운 체계설명과 조음 방식의 차이에 대한 교육이 필요한 경우, ② 음성 지각에 초점을 맞춘 청취 훈련이 필요한 경우, ③ L2의 조음 기술과연습 방법에 대한 집중 교육이 필요한 경우로 구분하여 교육방안을 제시한 것에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes Vietnamese learners' perception and production of the Kore an alveolar fricatives /ㅅ/ and /ㅆ/ overall, by proficiency level, and in word-initial and word-middle positions, providing foundational data for effective pronunciation education and making educational recommendations. The findings of the study are as follows: (1) Vietnamese learners had a low frequency of correct answers in the production of /ㅅ/ and in both the perception and production of /ㅆ/. (2) The cor rect answer rate for /ㅅ/ production was low across elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels, while the perception and production of /ㅆ/ were low at beginner and intermediate levels. (3) The correct answer rate was the lowest for /ㅅ/ in the word-initial position. (4) In terms of perception, word-initial /ㅅ/ was mastered at the intermediate level, word-initial /ㅅ/ at the beginner level, word-initial /ㅆ/ at the intermediate level, and word-initial /ㅆ/ at the advanced level, reaching a proficiency similar to that of native Korean speakers. (5) In terms of production, word-initial /ㅅ/ was acquired across all proficiency levels, word-initial /ㅅ/ and word-initial /ㅆ/ were acquired at the beginner level, and word-initial /ㅆ/ was ac quired at the advanced level, reaching a proficiency similar to that of native Korean speakers. These results indicate the importance of (1) providing education on the phonological system and the differences in articulation methods between L1 and L2 when necessary, (2) offering listening training focused on speech perception when required, and (3) delivering intensive education on L2 articulation skills and practice methods when needed. It is significant that these educational measures are categorized based on specific needs.
