From “Clash of Civilizations” to “Transcendence of Civilizations”: The Significant Importance of the Global Civilization Initiative in Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind

국문 초록

Against the backdrop of accelerating changes unseen in a century, choosing between “conflict” and “dialogue” among different civilizations has become a significant issue facing all countries in the world. The Global Civilization Initiative advocates that all countries jointly advocate respect for the diversity of world civilizations, jointly promote the shared values of all mankind, jointly emphasize the inheritance and innovation of civilizations, and jointly strengthen international cultural exchanges and cooperation. The proposal of the Global Civilization Initiative is a plan and wisdom provided by China to the international community to promote the progress of human civilization. It provides a new paradigm for cultural exchanges between countries in the world, achieving comprehensive transcendence over the theory of the clash of civilizations in terms of political structure, thinking patterns, value concepts, and practical approaches. It is in line with the laws of human civilization development and is of great significance for building a community with a shared future for mankind.

영문 초록

文明冲突论是冷战之后国际社会描绘世界政治图景新范式的产物，是“西方中心主义”文明观的体现。在世界百年未有之大变局加速演进的背景下，不同文明之间选择“冲突”还是“对话”，成为世界各国面临的一个重大问题。全球文明倡议主张各国共同倡导尊重世界文明多样性、共同倡导弘扬全人类共同价值、共同倡导重视文明传承和创新、共同倡导加强国际人文交流合作。全球文明倡议的提出是中国向国际社会提供的促进人类文明进步的方案和智慧，为世界各国文明交流提供了一种新的范式，在政治格局、思维方式、价值理念、实践进路等方面实现了对文明冲突论的全面超越，符合人类文明发展规律，对于构建人类命运共同体具有重要意义。
