국문 초록

말레이시아의 대표적인 중국계 가족기업인 로얄 셀랑거(Royal Selangor)는 137년의 역사를가지고 주석 제품을 생산 및 판매하는 대표적인 글로벌기업이다. 회사는 1885년 창업자 양쿤이 14세의어린 나이로 소규모의 주석공장을 차린 이후 한 세기 넘게 성장과 발전을 통해 글로벌 기업화를 거치며형제 간의 불화, 산업체제 전환, 경제불황, 세계대전 등 내우외환을 겪기도 하였다. 다행히도 입지우위를 바탕으로 다양한 위험요소에서 벗어나 시대의 변화와 시장 수요에 맞춰 주석분야의 장인정신과 사회적 책임의 실현을 바탕으로 끊임없는 혁신을 통한 축적우위로 인해 지금까지도 주석제품 분야의 글로벌기업으로 정상을 유지 할 수 있었다. 본 논문은 말레이지아의 대표적인 100년 장수기업인 로얄 셀랑거의 발전 과정을 소개하고 기업 문화, 마케팅 전략 및 국제화 과정 등의 경쟁력을 분석해 보았다.

영문 초록

Royal Selangor, one of Malaysia's leading Chinese family-owned companies, is a leading global company that produces and sells tin products with a history of 137 years. Since Yang Kun set up a small tin factory in 1885 at the young age of 14, the company has experienced internal and foreign exchanges for more than a century, including sibling feuds, industrial system change, economic depression, and world wars. Fortunately, based on its location advantage, it has been able to stand tall to this day thanks to its constant innovation based on craftsmanship and social responsibility in the tin field in line with the changes of the times and market demands, free from various risks. Eventually, it became the world's largest and world-renowned tin product enterprise. This paper introduces the development process of Royal Selanger, a representative of Malaysia's 100-year-old company, and analyzes the competitiveness of corporate culture, marketing strategy, and internationalization process.
