한중 반려동물 문화 비교 분석

국문 초록

본고는 한국과 중국의 반려동물 문화의 차이를 알아보고, 중국 반려동물 문화의 개선방안 및 발전 방향을 제시하여, 사람과 반려동물의 조화로운 공존을 이루는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 방법으로는 한중양국의 반려동물 현황과 문화 상황에 대한 통계자료, 법률과 기존 문헌을 활용하여 두 나라의 반려동물 문화의 차이를 비교하고 그 차이에 대한 원인과 문제점을 도출하였다. 중국은 전반적으로 반려동물의 법적 지위와 보호 정책은 물론이고 반려동물에 대한 예절과 복지 등의 수준에서 한국에 비해 다소 낮은 단계에 머물러있는 상황이다. 먼저 한중 양국의 반려동물에 대한 인식의 차이로 인하여 반려동물 등록과 유기동물 처리 및중성화 등의 반려동물 보호정책에 있어서 중국은 한국에 비해 반려동물의 보호보다는 반려인의 행동규범을더 중시하고 있으며, 전문적인 운영시스템과 전문인력이 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 바로 양국의 반려동물 문화에 관한 차이로 이어졌다. 펫티켓과 문명양견의 경우 한국은 반려인과 반려견, 일반시민의 조화로운 공존과 자율성을 강조하는 반면, 중국은 반려견으로부터 시민을 보호하고 규제하는 데 더 무게 중심을 두고 있다. 반려동물 복지의 경우에서도 한국에서는 반려동물 지원센터와 테마파크 등의 반려동물 문화 기반조성에 중점을 두고 있고, 반려동물 돌봄 서비스도 전문 업체들을 통해 확산되고 있으나 중국은 아직 그러한단계에 이르지 못하고 있다. 그리고 장례문화에 있어서도 한중 양국 모두 사체 처리에 관한 법적 근거를 두고 있고 장례전문 업체도 운영하고 있지만, 양국 모두 반려동물 장례에 대한 인식은 아직 낮은 편이다. 그러나 중국에 비해 한국에서는 반려동물 장례지도사 자격증 제도를 도입하는 등 적극적으로 제도를 개선하거나전문화로 나아가고 있는 점이 다르다고 할 수 있겠다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본고에서는 중국 내 올바른 반려동물 문화 조성을 위한 중국 반려동물 문화의 발전 방향을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to find out the differences in companion animal culture between Korea and China and to present ways to improve and develop Chinese companion animal culture to achieve a harmonious coexistence between humans and companion animals. As a research method, statistical data on the current status and cultural conditions of pets in Korea and China, laws, and existing literature were used to compare the differences in pet culture in the two countries, and to derive causes and problems. Overall, China remains at a somewhat lower level than Korea in terms of legal status and protection policies for pets, as well as pet etiquette and welfare. First of all, due to differences in perception of pets between Korea and China, China places more importance on pet behavioral norms than on pet protection, such as pet registration, organic animal treatment, and neutralization, and lacks professional operating systems and professionals. This led to differences in pet culture between the two countries. In the case of pet tickets, Korea emphasized the harmonious coexistence and autonomy of pets, dogs, and ordinary citizens, while China focuses more on protecting and regulating citizens from dogs. In the case of pet welfare, Korea focuses on creating a foundation for pet culture such as pet support centers and theme parks, and pet care services are also spreading through specialized companies, but China has yet to reach that stage. In addition, in terms of funeral culture, both Korea and China have legal grounds for the disposal of dead bodies and operate funeral companies, but both countries still have low awareness of pet funeral. However, compared to China, Korea is actively improving the system or moving toward specialization, such as introducing a pet funeral instructor certificate system. Based on these results, this paper presented the development direction of Chinese pet culture to create the right pet culture in China.
