국문 초록

고전의 현대적 읽기에 천착하는 것은 고전이 어떻게 재현되는지가 고전과 현대사회의 상호작용을 드러내는 것이기 때문이다. 특히 최근 K컨텐츠에 대한 관심이 증폭되면서 컨텐츠의 매체적 확장 뿐 아니라 내용적 측면에 관심을 보여야 할 당위가 있다. 본 연구에서는 최동훈 감독의 영화 외계+인 1부(2022), 영화 외계+인 2부(2024) 를 중심으로 고전의 해체적 다시 읽기가 영화를 통해 어떻게 재현되는지 분석하고자한다. 외계+인은 감독의 전작인 영화 전우치(2009)와의 관계를 고려하여 논할 필요가 있는 텍스트이므로 본 연구는 고전 전우치, 영화 전우치, 영화 외계+인의 관계를 상호적으로 다룬다. 고전과 영화 전우치는 캐릭터의 측면에서, 그리고 영화 전우치와 외계+ 인은 구조의 측면에서 공통점을 가진다. 반면, 영화 외계+인은 캐릭터와 기능을 분화하여 그 기능을 파편화하며, 이것을 짝패와 유사한 한 쌍으로 늘어놓는 방식으로 현대적 변용을 수행한다. 이는 현대와 고전과의 느슨하지만 유기적인 관계망을 포착하는연구로 기능할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This essay focuses on contemporary interpretations of the classics, as the repro duction of these texts reflects the interaction between classical works and modern society. In particular, with the amplified interest in K-content in recent years, it is imperative to examine not only the content itself but also the expansion of this content across various media. This study analyzes how deconstructive re-readings of Korean classics are reproduced in films, with a specific focus on Alienoid + 1 (2022) and Alienoid + 2 (2024), directed by Choi Dong-hoon. As Alien+ shares a significant relationship with the director’s previous film, Jeon Woo-chi (2009), this study examines the commonalities between the classic tale of Jeon Woo-chi, the film Jeon Woo-chi: The Taoist Wizard, and Alienoid. The classic and the movie share similarities in terms of characters, while the movie and Alien+ share structural commonalities. Conversely, Alien+ performs a modern transformation by fragmenting the characters and their functions, arranging some of them in pairs, thus differentiating itself from the previous film Jeon Woo-chi. This study aimed to capture the nuanced yet intimate interaction between the mod ern and the classic.
