국문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the latent growth curve model of the relationship between problem drinking and self-esteem among baby boomers and then to derive the social welfare implications. The subjects were 1,346 baby boomers who had steadily participated in the Korea Welfare Panel Survey, specifically in the 1st to 9th surveys (2006-2014), and their biennial specific data were analyzed by gender. The major findings were as follows: First, the pathway of the covariable “gender →intercept of CAGE” was significant, but that of “gender →slope of CAGE” was not significant. Second, the pathway of the latent variable “intercept of SE →intercept of CAGE” and that of “intercept of SE →slope of CAGE” were significant, but that of “slope of SE →slope of CAGE” was not significant. Finally, on the basis of these results, we discuss the implications, consider the limitations of this study, and provide some suggestions for future investigations.
