국문 초록

The islands and fishing villages perform various public functions but are located in the outermost regions of the country and on the path to extinction. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of a tourism-type living population, a new population concept. To this end, the actual conditions of ‘establishing a relationship’ with islands and fishing villages for urban residents were analyzed. A total of 3,000 valid data were collected through a mobile polling agency, and a set of analyses was conducted with SPSS 25.0. The main findings are as follows. First, the tourism-type living population perceived island and fishing villages as spaces that realize personal value and happiness. Second, a potential group also wants to consume island and fishing villages based on the attractiveness of the region and various activities. Third, to attract population, structural constraints must be resolved, and the high value of the region can be improved. The results show the feasibility of using the tourism-type living population, and implications and future research directions are suggested.
