국문 초록

This study examines the current use of and the needs for post adoption services among families adopting an older child. In this study, we used focus group interview (FGI) to collect the qualitative data and analyzed the data with constant comparison method. Five major categories were found during the FGI which are ‘prior experiences with post adoption services’, ‘hardships of parenting older adopted child’, ‘the benefits of post adoption services’, ‘problems with post adoption services’, and ‘needs for better post adoption services’ with 18 subcategories under the major categories. The results revealed the deficiencies in current post adoption service system for families adopting an older child and the improved plans were suggested based on the needs for better post adoption services among families adopting an older child.
