국문 초록

이 논문은 지난 백여 년간의 한국 화교 공동체 조직의 변천 과정과 특징그리고 역할을 체계적으로 다루었다. 한국 화교의 조직은 한국 화교 공동체의 발전과 단결에 중요한 역할을 했지만, 이에 대한 연구가 매우 부족하다. 이에 화교의 사회조직에 대한 실태 조사를 통하여 동향조직, 화교협회 등의현황을 밝히고 한국 화교 공동체의 조직 형성 과정에 대한 탐구를 진행하였다. 특히 현대 화교인구가 가장 많은 화교 경제의 중심지인 인천지역과 서울지역을 주로 분석하였다. 화교 공동체의 구심점이라고 할 수 있는 인천과 서울 사회조직의 형성과 발전을 아울러 살펴보았다. 그리고 정부의 화교에 대한 관심 및 정책 개선, 한중 민간 경제무역관계의 급속한 발전, 한국 화교의대외교류 확대 노력, 화교의 부흥 등의 측면에서 한중수교 이후 한국 화교 공동체의 변화를 설명하였다. 아울러 중한 양국 국민의 상호 이주가 양국의 미래 발전에 중요한 영향을 미칠 것임을 지적하였다.

영문 초록

This paper systematically examines the evolution, characteristics, and role of Korean overseas Korean community organizations over the past hundred years. Korean overseas Chinese organizations have played an important role in the development and unity of the Korean overseas Chinese community, but there is a great lack of research on them. Therefore, through a survey on the social organizations of overseas Koreans, this book reveals the current status of trend organizations and overseas Korean associations and explores the process of organization formation in the Korean overseas Korean community. In particular, we analyzed the Seoul and Incheon areas, which are the economic centers of the Korean diaspora with the largest diaspora population today. By examining the formation and development of social organizations in Incheon and Seoul, which are the nucleus of the overseas Korean community, we explain the changes in the overseas Korean community since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Korea in terms of the government’s increased interest in and policies toward the overseas Korean community, the rapid development of private economic and trade relations between China and Korea, efforts to expand overseas exchanges, and the revival of the overseas Korean community. He also pointed out that the mutual migration of Chinese and Korean citizens will have an important impact on the future development of both countries.
