영문 초록

This study investigates how linguistic parameters (e.g., word order and null subject) influence word processing. Fourteen Korean-speaking subjects and ten English-speaking subjects participated in a lexical decision test in which the participants were asked to decide the lexicality of the stimuli. The result demonstrated that Koreans responded more accurately and faster to verbs than nouns compared to Americans. Also, Koreans benefited more from word frequency than native speakers. Thus, this study was able to find firm evidence to support language-specific biases in word processing.
