Objective: This study aims to find out what the trends and main keywords are in news articles related to English kindergartens, and to find out the relationship between the main keywords.. Methods: From January 1, 2000 to September 30, 2023, news articles containing ‘English Kindergarten’ from 54 media outlets, including national daily newspapers, economic daily newspapers, local daily newspapers, broadcasting companies, and specialized journals, were selected for analysis. Data were collected and news articles were analyzed using BIG KINDS. Results: First, the trend of news articles related to English kindergartens mainly showed an increasing trend after 2000, but decreased from 2013 to 2014, showed a steady decrease until 2016, and then increased again until 2020. Second, when visually examining the main keywords of news articles related to English kindergartens, 'parents' appeared the most, followed by 'English academy for children', 'general kindergarten', and cost-related keywords. The content was the main issue. Third, a network was formed that was centered on ‘parents’, a relationship between major keywords in news articles related to English kindergartens. Conclusions: English kindergarten news articles can be influenced by various factors and can be explained by the education system, policy changes, and economic factors. This study provides basic data to establish the public nature of early childhood English education and the direction toward child-centered education by searching and analyzing news about English kindergartens since 2000.
