The purpose of this research is to find out the change in the attitudes of medical students about homosexuality and same-sex marriage and the lasting of such change over time, after showing a film featuring gay men and lesbians. A film featuring a gay medical doctor and a lesbian medical doctor, ‘Two weddings and a funeral’, was shown to 45 students who are in their third year of medicine at Dong-A university. The students were asked to answer three rounds of scales (before the film, right after the film and after 3 month) consist of 20 questions on attitudes toward lesbians and gay men, and 17 questions on attitudes toward same-sex marriage. The results were analyzed using scales respectively. The results were as follows. Both the attitudes toward lesbians and gay men and same-sex marriage showed a positive change after the film. The results were significantly consistent after 3 month. These results suggest that the film featuring the minority such as homosexuals can be effective tools, as they can change the prejudice and biased attitudes toward them.
