패턴 활동의 지도 방안 탐색을 위한 초등학교 2학년 규칙 찾기 단원의 수업 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 2학년 학생들을 대상으로 패턴의 생성 방식에 따른 구조를 파악하는 활동을 중점에 두고 규칙 찾기단원을 재구성하여 6차시의 교수⋅학습 자료를 개발하고 수업한 사례를 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 초등학교 2학년 2개 학급을 선정하였고, 각 학급에서 동일한 교수⋅학습 자료를 바탕으로 수업을 진행하였다. 수업은 크게 반복 패턴의 구조를 파악하는 활동, 증가 패턴의 구조를 파악하는 활동, 패턴의 속성을 바꾸어 구조를 비교하는 활동, 패턴의 특정한 항을 추측하는 활동으로 구성되었다. 수업을 분석한 결과 패턴의 구조를 파악하는 활동을 통해 학생들은 패턴의 생성 방식에 따른 구조를 명확하게 파악하게 되었다. 그 결과 학생들은 패턴의 구조를 다양하게 표현할 수 있었고, 궁극적으로는 패턴의 구조를 스스로 생성할 수 있었다. 본 연구는이와 같은 결과를 바탕으로 어린 학생들을 위한 패턴 활동의 지도 방안에 대하여 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study designed six lessons by reorganizing the unit of finding rules for second-grade students, while focusing on the activities to identify the structure of patterns. For this purpose, two second-grade classes were selected, and two teachers taught their respective classes based on the same teaching and learning materials. The lessons consisted of four main activities: identifying the structure of repeated patterns, identifying the structure of growing patterns, converting the properties of the patterns to compare them, and guessing the particular terms of patterns. The results of this study showed that the activity of identifying the structure of patterns gave students a clear understanding of the structure of patterns based on how they were generated. This in turn helped students to express the structure of the patterns in multiple ways, and to create the structure of the patterns for themselves. Based on these findings, this paper closes with the implications for teaching pattern activities to young students.
