미술 감상 방법론으로서 ‘전시 기획’ 활동의 가능성

국문 초록

이 논문에서는 미술관을 넘어 다양한 분야로 확장되고 있는 ‘큐레이팅’ 그리고그 변화의 양상을 담아내고 있는 ‘큐레토리얼적 전환’에서 ‘전시 기획’이 가지고 있는 교육적 가능성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 큐레토리얼적 전환을 통해 큐레이팅/큐레이터가 작품 간의 맥락을 제공하는 매개자에서, 비평적 형식을 도모하는 비평가를 거쳐, 자기표현 형식으로서 기획을 시도하는 창작자로 의미를 확장해 왔음을 확인하였다. 둘째, 큐레이팅/큐레이터의 의미 변화와 교육의 접점을 각각 과정 중심성, 비평성, 담론성에서 찾고 교육의 장면으로 연결하여 전시 기획이 가진 교육적 가능성을 타자와의 협업 경험, 해석 주체로서의 경험, 새로운 의미 생성의 경험 세 가지로 제시하였다. 마지막으로 ‘전시 기획’ 활동을 학교 교육에 수용할 수 있는 환경적 토대로서 디지털 미술관과 큐레이션 문화를 제시하여 전시 기획 활동이 가진 미술 감상 방법론으로서의 가능성을 확장하였다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the educational possibilities of exhibition planning in the context of 'curating', which is expanding beyond the museum to various fields, and 'curatorial transformation', which reflects the aspect of change. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the meaning of curators/curators has expanded from a medium that provides a context between works through a curatorial shift, through a critic who promotes a critical form, to a creator who attempts to curate as a form of self-expression. Second, by finding the point of contact between the meaning of curator/curator and education in the centrality of the process, criticism, and discourse, respectively, and connecting them to the scene of education, the educational possibilities of exhibition planning were presented in three ways: the experience of collaboration with others, the experience of the subject of interpretation, and the experience of creating new meanings. Lastly, the environmental foundation for the ‘exhibition planning’ activity to be incorporated into school education was found in the digital art museum and curation culture, expanding the possibilities as a methodology for art appreciation.
