영문 초록

This thesis aims to analyze nominal suffixes in Korean and English, and to establish universal and individual properties between two languages on the basis of comparisons and contrasts. Nominal suffixes in English project the properties of syntactic category itself as it is in general. But Most of nominal suffixes in Korean regardless of a native Korean or sino-Korean have some new lexical and modal meaning and combine with preceding base. However native Korean suffixes “-이/음/기/개(-i/eum/gi/gae)” and sino-Korean suffixes “-人/者(in/ja)” are same properties as English suffixes. And according to many verbal compounding construction that these suffixes are participated in we make sense root compound and verbal compound as same construction all of two language.
