영문 초록

This thesis aims to analyze the actual writing condition of loan words in ≪The New Dictionary of Foreign Words in Modern Korean≫, the first loan words dictionary before making the norms of writing loan words. The purpose of this thesis to discuss the writing tendency of loan words in relation to the current writing loan words. In 1930s, fricative [s] was written as a lax sound more than a tense sound. The loan words which are pronounced as [ə] was mainly written as a vowel ‘ㅏ’. It was caused alphabetic writing. The actual writing condition of loan words can be characterized by the stress of alphabetic writing, an influence of Japan loan words and the diversity of writing.
