영문 초록

This study shows the present state of the teaching and use of Korean by Korean immigrants in the English-speaking countries, especially focusing on New Zealand which is in the early stage of shaping the Korean immigrant society. It is very difficult for Korean immigrants to sustain the ability to speak Korean in English-speaking societies, and furthermore, in the countries like New Zealand which is economically weak, it is even hard to maintain Korean Language schools. Thus, Korea, the homeland, needs to provide appropriate supports to every regions for the revitalization of Korean teaching.
