국문 초록

이 연구는 D대학교의 글쓰기 수업인 <글쓰기기초>에 대한 학습자의 만족 및 요구분석을 하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 글쓰기 수업을 듣는 학생을 대상으로 설문 조사 및 면담을 실시하고 이를 분석하였다. 글쓰기 수업에 대한 학습자의 만족에서 알 수 있었던 점은 우선적으로 학생들은 <글쓰기기초> 수업에 만족한다는 것이다. 또한 수업에 대한 전반적인 평가, 학생들의 사고와 표현에 있어서 도움 정도, 글쓰기수업의 필요성 등은 모두 긍정적으로 인식하고 있다. 그리고 수업에 대한 만족도에 대해서 크게 기여하는 요소로 학생들은 교수자의 전문성이라고 생각하고 있었다. 학생들의 수업에 대한 요구는 수업 시간과 수업 방식에 대한 것이었는데 코로나19로 인한 비대면 수업 방식에 적응한 일부 학생들이 대면 수업보다 온라인으로 수업하기를 바라고 수업 시간도 줄이기를 요구하였다. 글쓰기 수업을 듣는 모든 학생들을 대상으로 설문 조사를 한 것이 아니므로 이 연구 결과를 일반화할 수는 없다. 하지만 학생들이 실제로 글쓰기 수업에 대해 어떻게 생각하고 무엇을 요구하는지를 알 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 본다.

영문 초록

This study examined learners’ satisfaction and expectations of a writing course, titled “Basic Writing,” at D University, using a questionnaire survey administered to 126 students taking this course. The findings revealed a high level of student satisfaction with the class. Additionally, the overall class evaluation by students, the extent of assistance provided to improve students’ thinking ability and expression skills, and the need for writing classes were all positively perceived. Students felt that the professor’s expertise contributed to their positive perceptions and satisfaction levels. Students who had somewhat adapted to online classes due to the coronavirus disease preferred it to the current face-to-face mode, which the university has reverted to after the pandemic. Their expectations regarding the class timings and study mode are more related to operational rather than educational aspect. While the results of this study cannot be generalized due to the relatively small sample size, they still provide valuable insights into students’ satisfaction levels and their needs regarding writing classes.
