As the government of Korea and many companies actively advance into Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, the economic and cultural ramifications of this exchange create a number of challenges. One of the main challenges is the necessity for professional native interpreters for communication between them. This trend has to be reflected in Korean education and we have to be concerned about interpretation education as well as finding an effective way of providing interpretation education to those who plan to enter this field. It is necessary to have not only speaking and listening ability but also good interpretation skills. Therefore, interpretation education has to be focused on the improvement of interpretation skills of students. For this, it is necessary to have a separate curriculum, targeted teaching methods, and evaluation methods. Using this theoretical approach, we researched an example for interpretation education which is being taught in Vietnam. Using Vietnam as an example, in how the theory of interpretation education is applied in the field, we can develop a viable system in Korean education.
