국문 초록

본 연구는 한국어 교육에서 문화교육이 강조되고 있는 현시점에서 문화를 체계적으로 읽어 낼 수 있는 하나의 방법으로 문화 리터러시 교육 방안을 제안하였다. 최근 한국문화교육에서는 한국 문화의 일방적 전달이 아닌 상호 간의 문화를 존중하며 서로 간의 문화를 탐색하고 배우도록 하는 상호문화교육이 강조되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 활동이 의미 있게 수행되기 위해서는 각각의 문화를 정확히 읽고 이해하는 과정이 선행되어야 하는데 문화 리터러시 교육이 그 방법 중 하나가 될 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 특히 과거 한국인들의 가치와 사상, 생활을 잘 반영하고 있는 설화를 통해 문화 리터러시 교육의 실제를 보여주고자 하였다. 이를 위해 문화 리터러시의 개념을여러 연구를 토대로 재개념화하고 문화 리터러시 수업모형을 구성하여 제시하였으며 한국의 대표적인 설화 <해와 달이 된 오누이>를 선정하여 수업모형에 따라 수업 내용과 활동을 구체적으로 제시하였다. 본 연구는 문화 리터러시 개념과 문화 리터러시 요소를 여러 연구를 종합해 정리하고 한국의 옛이야기인 설화를 통해 문화 리터러시를 학습할 수 있는 구체적인 방안을 제안했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to propose an education plan for cultural literacy as a means to systematically understand culture in Korean language education, which has increasingly emphasized mutual cultural exchange and learning in recent years. To carry out these activities meaningfully, it is crucial to accurately read and understand each culture, and cultural literacy education can be an effective method for achieving this goal. This study demonstrates the significance of cultural literacy education, particularly through folktales that reflect the values, thoughts, and lives of Koreans in the past. We reconceptualize the concept of cultural literacy based on various studies and present a cultural literacy class model. Additionally, we select a representative Korean tale, “The Brother and Sister Who Became the Sun and the Moon,” and provide detailed class contents and activities based on the class model. By integrating various studies, this study summarizes the concept and elements of cultural literacy and proposes a specific plan for learning cultural literacy through Korean folktales. This research offers a valuable contribution to the field of cultural education by demonstrating the importance of cultural literacy and providing a practical approach to teaching it through a traditional Korean story.
