영문 초록

Most of Robert Schumann's works contain literary allusions. His unpublished project of 12 Burlesques also contains such literary elements. However, Schumann himself did not mention them. Schumann gave us two pieces of information: first, he wanted his “12 Burlesques” to be composed along the lines of the Papillons; second, his article under “burlesque music” also shows a connection to literature. The Papillons were based on literature and the burlesque, as in the humoresque, can be understood as a literary genre in itself. Although he did not complete 12 Burlesques, Schumann can be viewed as a forerunner and pioneer of the genre and the new style of music.
