The use of politeness expressions plays an important role in regulating interpersonal relationships and has a direct influence in communication effect. This paper makes an investigation and quantitative analysis of the use of politeness expressions from 849 house-leasing advertising texts in Chinese BBS，thus studying the gender difference in the use of politeness expression in web-based public communication
