영문 초록

Recently, there has been a rising interest in K-Pop and K-Beauty around the globe. In fact, foreigners’ voluntary participation and expectation of Korean traditional culture have gradually increased. Under these circumstances, this study attempted to rediscover the traditional value of oriental painting for communications with the world and examine art makeup based on such Korean traditional values by adding artistry to makeup with a modern sense. As traditional Korean paintings started to reveal neo-pop tendency, neo-pop oriental painters emerged. It is anticipated that the expression of art makeup using the meaning of traditional Korean paintings and neo-pop images would improve the reputation of Korean makeup and that the reinterpretation of traditional culture would be another beginning of art makeup with modern senses. It is also expected that traditional Korean culture could be a path towards new global culture.
