국문 초록

이와 같은 연구 결과는 요약글이 요약 주체의 이해 정도를 보여준다는 기존의 입장에서 나아가 하나의 의사소통 매체라는 점을 염두에 두고 지도해야 함을 함의한다. 따라서 요약글 쓰기 지도에서 이해한 내용을 바탕으로 능동적인 재구성과 같은 전략들을 구사하도록 지도할 필요가 있다. 앞으로의 연구에서도 이와 관련되는 구체적인 논의가 필요하다.

영문 초록

In this study, it has been proved, by using the analysis of Pearson's correlation, that students' ability to produce essay and expository text is correlated to the ability to summarizing them (r=0.595 and r=0.558, respectively). Two groups of subjects consisting of university freshmen show that the better they write an essay and expository text, the higher they get the score for summarizing them. This result implicates that the ability to summarize is not only index of comprehender's understanding but also medium of communication. In terms of results, it has been concluded that students should be taught to use writing strategies actively to improve their summarizing ability. On going study, we need to have further discussion on the writing strategies to improve summarizing ability.
