재(在)호주 한국인의 인성 덕성 조사 결과를 바탕으로 한 국어과 교육에서의 인성 교육 방향

국문 초록

본고는 7차 과정 국어 교육의 목표에서 추구하는 인간상을 살펴보고 실제로 이러한 교육을 받은 한국인이 가지고 있는 인성덕목에 대한 호주 교민들을 대상으로 실시한 25문항으로 된 설문조사지 67매를 분석하였다. 그 결과는 한국인은 효나 정은 호주인에 비해 강한 것으로 드러났지만 언어예절, 논리적. 합리적 어법, 소외된 자나 타인종에 대한 인간애 등이 많이 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 또한 단체나 자기가 속한 공동체의 이익보다는 개인의 이익을 훨씬 앞세우며 신뢰성이나 공평성. 정직성에서는 호주인보다 탁월하게 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 그래서 3장에서는 그 개선점으로 국어과 교육에서 인성교육을 강화할 것을 제시하면서 교과서에 소개되는 문학 제재등에서 한국인이 부족한 인성덕목인 정직성, 공동체 정신, 타인을 사랑하는 마음등과 같은 인성 덕목이 더 포함 되어져야 한다고 지적하고 있다. 아울러 인성교육을 강화하기 위해서는 교사의 신념과 의지가 중요함을 지적하면서 학교에서 각 교과목 교사들이 공동으로 협력하여 전 생활에 걸쳐서 인성교육을 실시할 것을 제시한다. 또한 이러한 인성교육에 역행하는 내용등이 수록된 교과서나 교보재등의 내용이 보완돼야 함을 지적하고 있다.

영문 초록

This article describes the ideal students who are depicted in the objectives of the 7th Korean language curriculum, and it analyses the kind of ethical principles Koreans actually have by investigating the survey responses of Korean immigrants in Australia . The analysis shows that Koreans are better than Australians in the perspective of filial duties to their parents and jeong [love, friendship, commitment sometimes with sufferings). However Koreans were found to lack language courtesy, the logical and rational way of dialogue and expression, love and understanding of other people. They also seek their own selfish benefits much more than those of societies and communities and the organizations they belong to; they are far behind Australians in terms of honesty, fairness, and accountability. In order to improve this, the paper suggests the need of strengthening ethics education in the Korean language curriculum, by including the teaching of more ethical principles, which Koreans need to improve such as honesty, love of communities and societies, organizations they belong to, love of other people regardless of their different backgrounds. For this the author stresses the importance of teachers' beliefs and determination to carry out ethics education and finally the paper concludes by mentioning the need to revise false contents of textbooks, particularly those that may have negative implications on children's ethics education.
